Top 5 Things to Look Forward to This February in London


It's finally time to put Dry January to bed, give up with the salads we promised to eat all day every day and enjoy some good food and drink for the next 11 months. And when it comes to good food and drink London is your go to this Feb. With dozens of new openings and events throughout the month Urban Eateries will give you the down low on what to expect.


The Super Bowl

Starting with sport the Super Bowl 2017 kicks off on February 5th -pardon the pun- and Super Bowl Party's are being thrown across the capital. With this being the biggest sporting event in America bars UK wide offer die-hard NFL supporters and the standard beer fans the opportunity to catch these late night screenings. Some places involved this year include The Diner Soho - not only do they have big screens to broadcast the games but also Americas other favourites deep fried food and chunks of well cooked meat! Alternatively you could hit the Sport Lounge at Greenwood and enjoy a seat, burger and bottle for £15. Wherever you enjoy the Super Bowl this year ensure you are filled with good food and good beer!

Farang

The eagerly anticipated pop up is due to open Friday 3rd February for six months in Highbury. They have promised a menu of great curries and small plates all created by Seb Holmes the former Begging Bowl chef. Insiders have told us to the go to dish will be the Lobster Lon with Dipping Vegetables which we can't wait to try!


North London Brew Fest

The Craft Beer festival is making a return to the Snooty Fox this February from the 2nd - 4th. Friday involves and ale and cheese pairing event followed by Saturdays 'Meet the Brewer' session. Soul DJs will be there to play into the night helping you ensure Dry January is forgotten by midday.


The Other Naughty Piglet
Set to soft launch on the 18th February the Brixton neighbourhood favourite Naughty Piglets are opening their second restaurant in Victoria, co-running with Andrew Lloyd Webber! The 60 cover restaurant will host a large open kitchen for guests to view their food as it is cooked. We have also been told that following the same style as site one The Other Naughty Piglet will offer more choice of both food and wine. There will be a 50% discount for the soft launch week.


The Producers at Paradise Garage

The opportunity to delve into an exclusive five-course tasting menu this February at Paradise Garage. They will be launching a number events on the last Tuesday every month to celebrate their top suppliers. The first will take place on the 28th February and focus on the UKs top fruit and veg supplier Natoora. Not only will you get a five course veg based meal prepared by head chef Simon Woodrow and sous chef Patrick Williams there will also be a welcome cocktail for £40 per person. These dinners will continue up until May each one focusing on a unique supplier.


Valentines Day

We are still looking into what options are available this Valentines Day and it would be fair to say it deserves a post of its own so keep your eyes peeled for our Top 10 Date Night Restaurants to visit this year! We have a feeling this may the biggest year yet!

Urban Eateries guide to Fitzrovia


If you wander just North of Oxford Street, tucked away beside the wealth of Marylebone you'll find yourself centre stage in Fitzrovia, a thriving community best known for its contributions to the arts.Housing poets, musicians and designers including Saatchi & Saatchi X London Fitzrovia is the ideal place to mix business and pleasure with a good range of Michelin star and cheap eats which meant it was the perfect place to feature in our first every recommendations blog post!


Riding House Café 43 Great Titchfield Street, W1W 7PQ
 
The Riding house café offers an striking design fitting perfectly with the Fitzrovia theme. This all day brasserie on Titchfield Street provides the perfect range of light bites and fully loaded breakfasts to kick start your day. Our personal recommendation has got to be the Chorizo Hash, the perfect combo of roasted peppers, kale and fried eggs. 

The Breakfast Club 33 D'Arblay St, W1F 8EU

With 9 sites throughout London we knew this café meant business and they did not let us down. In their own words this ‘small but mighty’ site provides a range of hearty eats, great hospitality and award-winning cocktails.

Honey & Co 25 Warren St, W1T 5LZ

Honey & Co a quaint eatery run by an Israeli husband and wife team with a passion for good food.  Showcasing delicious food from the Middle East, providing table sharers, an extensive egg dish range and great cereal. Since opening customers have travelled from across London for a taste of the family run cafes food especially its weekend Big Breakfast menu.

Calcutta Street 29 Tottenham St, W1T 1RU

A new eatery by Shrimoyee arrived in London mid-last year. The Bengali Home Dining restaurant acclaimed for the kitchen being the beating heart behind it all pride themselves on providing seasonal British ingredients and imported spices to create food inspired largely by her family. Our recommendations here would certainly lie with the Chicken Reshmi Kebab and Musurir Daal.


Portand113 Great Portland St, W1W 6QQ

Portland is a Michelin star gem situated on Great Portland Street. Despite being small in size Portland offer a great range of food based on the very best produce they can find and cooked with ultimate care and attention to detail. Their wine list is reviewed each month and starting at £21 per bottle they can be no argument on value for money.

Patara 5A Berners Street, W1T 3L

Patara Berners Street screams culture with its ultra sleek Thai architecture and relaxing two floor dining area, the site manages to deliver an authenic yet contemporary environment perfectly fitting for Fitzrovia. Their Thai Curry is worth returning for again and again, and there is no question as to why these branches have a reputations for top quality cooking. If you're looking to delive into some traditional Thai classics or branch out and try some more exotic flavours then this is the eatery for you

Next time you find yourself lost in Fitzvoria make sure not only to take in some of the individual artwork this area has to offer but these great reasonably priced eat!
